For traditional production line, the PCB is commonly manually tested withpins, so as handled and assembled, which is of low efficiency and a lot of wrongoperation. According to the PCB vendor and to meet the requirements of testing, handling and assembling, we design a high efficiency and low faulty automaticassembly line, at the same time in order to improve the degree of automation andreduce manpower regulation, we build a bus control network. The assembly line isdivided into three parts as testing part, transport part and assembly part respectively. To coordinate operation between the parts, the three parts work in turn and onceproduce a finished product. Within this assembly line, multiple degrees of freedommanipulators are put into use, and in the assembly part i.e. the last part, thehand-eye system is employed for product inspection. Before assembling, testing procedure consists of two parts, as frequencyspectrum analysis and network analysis respectively. This module includesDescartes manipulator with three DOF, and the actuator at the end is redesigned, asto be used for plug testing operation. Transport module is used for the semi-finishedproduct sorting and trimming, and then the PCB will be transported to assemblymodule for assembly screws operation. For this final assembly module, its functionis to put the base part, PCB board and cover board together with alignment, andassembled screw to finish the last operation. Assembly module consists of screwmanipulator and SCARA robot for base part lifting, but the mechanical design andcontrol procedures are simplified. The entire control system employs CAN bus communication, with each modulebeing under independent controller. The controller can achieve more automatic levelwith the interaction between some certain input and output signals.
