The belt conveyer is the important transport equipment in coal production, especiallylong-distance, high-power, large capacity, high-speed belt conveyor has become the trend ofbelt conveyor development. The longitudinal tear has become the more prominent accidents,due to the unique structure of steel cord conveyor belt, if you can not timely detection ormishandled, can easily cause damage of the conveyor belt, and even cause the entire conveyorscrapped.This paper ask give a conveyor belt longitudinal rip detection protection scheme basedon machine vision, study the corresponding detection device, and conduct detailed researchon its key technologies, according to the problem of steel cord conveyor belt longitudinaltearing, on the basis of analysis of domestic and foreign conveyor belt longitudinal tearprevention research status, combined with the actual needs of the belt conveyor job site. Theresearch has certain reference value for enhancing the level of the conveyor belt longitudinaltear protection.First in this study, determine the appropriate operating parameters, select the camera,light source and lens to adapt to the testing environment, according to actual demand; thenresearch and simulation analysis the algorithm of detection tear based on machine vision;finally, designed and built the system hardware platform, system software and hardwaredebug and validate total solutions, using DM642video processing chip and EP1C12FPGAchip.The test device achieve the goal ahead of belt conveyor protection by sending police oremergency stop signal when identified to meet the conditions of the state longitudinal tear occurs, based on analysis of field-collected data, processing and it has the important practical significance for improving the industrial and mining safety in production.
