Robotic arm three dimensional scanners are used in reverse engineering andproduct quality inspection areas of complex Mechatronic products. This paperproposes combining UGNX Mechatronics Concept Designer (MCD) as well asintegrated in the NX Teamcenter lifecycle management software, complete conceptdesign of robotic arm three dimensional scanners, have greater value and theoreticalsignificance. Specific study content as described below.First, the paper studied the design of robotic arm scanner. Focuses on roboticarm based on user requirements scanner access to users ’ needs, creates a robotic armscanner requirements management structure tree, completed the robotic arm scannerrequirement traceability model creation.Secondly, the paper is done based on MCD modeling of conceptual design ofmechanical arm scanner. New, functional machine design method is proposed, theestablishment of a functional machine design of mechanical arm scanner models,structural conceptual models and detailed models of the structure of for the followingsimulation of mechanical arm scanner early-stage groundwork.Again, the paper creating the mechanical arm based on MCD scannerknowledgebase. Detail according to the mechanical arm of the scanner body threedimensional models, complete mechanical arm scanner component definition of thephysical properties and characteristics, added a crash sensor and actuator, bycompleting the mechanical arm three dimensional scanner to create or write the C#language in runtime behavior, to verify the correctness of the conceptual design ofmechanical arm scanner.Finally, the paper gives the MCD based platform during the conceptual design ofrobotic arm scanner instance. MCD-based platform, implements the conceptualdesign of mechanical arm scanner, accelerating the pace of product development.
