The proliferation of cloud computing offers a cheap and efficient solution for thedeployment of the web application. Even the resource-limited service providers startto deploy their application on the cloud. Although the increase of the applicationbrought a great convenience for the users, the great number of necessary register atdifferent application brought a huge burden for the user’s identity management, which leads to an urgent demand for single sign on. As a promising technology tosolve the user identity management problem, single sign on is becoming more andmore mature, but most of the existing single sign on system could not meet the newscenario in cloud computing.Concentrating on the cross-domain authentication and the stability of single signon system, we designed a new authentication model to modeling the trustrelationship between different identity management domains in cross-domainauthentication, and clarified the responsibility and authority of different roles. Moreover, this research also designed an intra-domain protocol free way to performthe authentication process, which could perform a safe cross-domain authenticationwith the core node off-line. Finally, this research proposed a solution to unify theuser identity in a cross-domain manner. On the basis of the above research, this workdesigned and implemented the corresponding authentication protocol. Theexperimental result shows that the authentication protocol proposed in this researchcould easily handle the cross-domain authentication problem and have a greatresistance on single point of failure.
