The research of networks has lasted for several decades, but it is also difficult toprovide QoS for networks. Network Calculus is anefficient tool to analyze networks,which has a firm mathematicalfoundation and can be widely used. Network calculus,based on system theory and minus plus algebra, advanced the research of QoS by a bigstep.With the improvement of HPC system processing ability, data processed persecond increases a lot, which puts a higher demand on the performance of HPCinterconnect system. Interconnect system, deciding the performance of HPC, isanimportant part of the HPC system.With the increase of the link bandwidth, the prosand cons of classical switching technologiesare not static.This dissertation studies the circuit switching delay upperbound in3D-Torusarchitecture using Network Calculus as a theoretical tool. We give a model for theprocess of setting up data links, and analyze the delay bound during setting up datalinksand transmit packets. Besides, we give the end to end equal service curve of the dataflow and get the equation of delay upper bound in circuit switching technology.Then, this project use network calculus as a theoretical tool to study the delayupper bound of the wormhole switching in3D-Torus architecture. We build the modelof credit stall and switcher assignment stall, and further more we get theend to end equalservice curve of the data flow and get the model of delay upper bound.At last, we use Matlab to compare the delay upper bound of circuit switching andwormhole switching, and use OMNet++to analyze the store-farward switching andcircuit switching. We studied the delay performace of circuit switching andstore-forward switching in HPC high-speed data links. We get a conclusion that, circuitswitching can have a better performance in real time performance of the datatransmission and better usability in optical interconnection system, which will be moresuitable for the HPC system.
