Prison is the special place to lock up and reform criminals. Keeping the security ofprisons to prevent criminals from prison break, rebellion and damage is one of theimportant measures to guarantee the social harmony and stability. With the continuousdevelopment of science and technology, the prison security takes full advantage ofmodern advanced information-based resources. Relying on digital surveillancetechnology to achieve all-round monitoring of prisons, The remote video, audiomonitoring can timely reflect the field situation of the important place. Therefore, it is apowerful tool for modern management of prison.However, as the size of the prison monitoring system is increasing and thefunctions are being upgraded continuously, traditional prison monitoring memorysystems cannot meet the requirements for current large-scale data storage. According tothe actual demand for the prison monitoring storage system, this paper analyzes itsdemand for data storage, high-performance transmission and reliability of the data, andputs forward a design model of prison monitoring storage system based on Lustre filesystem, which meets the needs for massive data storage, high-performance transmissionand high reliability and improves the overall availability of the system.Firstly, through comparison of Lustre and other mainstream distributed filesystems, this paper puts forward the advantages of Lustre to be used in prisonmonitoring storage system, and shows the design model of prison monitoring storagesystem based on Lustre file system. Meanwhile, in view of the network bandwidth limitto the system transmission performance, the paper recommends using InfiniBandnetwork to construct its subsystem for network transmission. InfiniBand network has ahigh bandwidth and low latency, which greatly reduces the delay of data transmissionand makes the system play a better role in prison security management.Besides, considering that the prison monitoring system has a high demand for thereliability of data, this paper also puts forward using DRBD and Heartbeat technologyto construct metadata framework. Using RAID5to build storage nodes of the systemcan greatly strengthen the reliability of data storage in the system.Finally, in consideration of the characteristics of data transmission in prisonmonitoring storage system, an experimental environment is built through the settings ofthe server and the client in Lustre file system. In this environment, the most suitableparameter configuration is tested and analyzed to show the optimum performance ofLustre in prison monitoring storage system.
