This paper studies the design and implementation of modern coal mineequipment diagnosis for early warning system based on fault diagnosis. Nowadays, allmanagement methods and tools with high technology element in equipmentmanagement field are based on the application of information technology, such asmeasurement technique, maintenance technology, the advanced sensor, statelyinspection tools, data processing technology, condition diagnosis and evaluationmethods.This paper analyses the function and demand of the modern coal mine equipmentinformation for early warning system. It is achieved from two aspects. One is basedon equipment fault diagnosis which collects data from the key components in the coalmine equipment and processes the data, then diagnoses the fault, and troubleshoots inorder to realize the early warning purpose. The other is based on the equipmentinformation management. Through using the computer, it sets up electronicdocuments about equipment, measuring instrument and the special facilities. To thatequipment which need realize inspection, re-inspection cycle managementrequirement, it can give an alarm by using a direct striking warning prompt.The important part of mine equipment information for early warning system aimsat the fault diagnosis of gear box of elevator. The process can be divided into threesteps. Firstly, gets the diagnostic information. Secondly, extracts the fault feature.Finally, identifies the condition and diagnoses the fault. So firstly, this paper pointsout the fault mechanism, fault type of the gear box of elevator, and analyses themodulation of vibration signals of gears and bearings, and also studies the calculationmethod of fault feature frequency. Secondly, the key of the diagnosis process is toextracts the fault feature frequency from vibration signals. This paper studies the faultdata processing method: time domain analysis and frequency domain analysis,including time domain properties index, Fourier transformation, power spectrumanalysis, cepstrum analysis and modern spectrum analysis methods. Among thosemethods, the frequency domain analysis is very important because it uses Fouriertransformation to change the signal from time domain to frequency domain, so we canget the amplitude and phase information of time domain frequency component ofsignals. And finally, by comparing with the characteristic frequency of the runtimegearbox, it can get the status of the equipment operation and find fault source.This paper also analyses system’s domains and divides the function modules ofthe system, designing the details. It constructs testing platform for the fault diagnosissystem of the gear box of elevator. It uses C#, C++, Matlab to design the system, and uses Microsoft SQL Server to build up the background database, to save informationof the mine equipment and the fault data form important part for early warning. Andfinally, we take experiment to get the diagnosis result using the program on the testingplatform.The mine equipment information for early warning system is based on themodern structural health mind, using the data collecting system, PC and softwarecombination. It has functions such as time domain vibration data collection, theinternet information transportation, and fault diagnosis and equipment informationmanagement. And it is easily to operate and the interface looks artistic. Trough usingthis system, we can realize the real-time monitoring of the important part ofequipment which is running and far away from the monitoring center, it helpsimproving the safety of the running equipment, guides the reasonable maintenancemanagement and extends the lifetime of the equipment. In a word, this system of mineequipment information for early warning has a great application value and economicbenefit.
