As a mechanical device, gearbox acts as an essential connection and transmission ofpower that is a major component widely used in all fields. With the rapid development ofscience and technology , modern machinery and equipment also toward the development oflarge-scale, efficient, automated and high-performance orientation. Industry is the lifeblood ofthe national economy, is particularly important to ensure the normal operation and continuousoperation of the mechinery and equipment. In this paper, based on existing equipment andtechnology, establishes a platform to test status monitoring and fault diagnosis of gear-boxand to simulate a variety fault diagnosis of gear-box. Through data acquisition equipment andfault diagnosis expert system to collect data and analysis data, we analyze of the cause of themalfunction, and then compare the results of theoretical analysis and experimental results, anddraw the final conclusion.In this study, we first elaborate failure mechanism of the gearbox, and then introduceseveral aspects, such as failure modes and failure symptom from the gear-box, gear failureforms and vibration mechanism, failure chanacteristtics and the failure mechanism of therolling bearing, the failure chanacteristtics and the failure mechanism of the gear shaft andsignal processing techniques. Finally introduce wireless sensor network based on Zigbeetechnology and fault diagnosis expert system.Secondly, based on the existing wireless sensor network technology and fault diagnosisexpert system, we use wireless ADXL202 acceleration wensor and DH3819 coordination tobuild a wireless sensor network, design gearbox fault vibration test stand, set up theinstallation location for sensor in the gearbox section in the gearbox section, vibration testbench and data acquisition systems and fault diagnosis expert system are connected throughthe wireless ADXL202 acceleration. We apply wireless sensor networks on the gearbox fordata acquisition, import data collected to fault diagnosis expert system, and ultimately form acomplete wireless transmission network-based on gearbox condition monitoring and faultdiagnosis expert system.Finally, through the established system to test, collect measuring point of the gearbox ,we apply fault diagnosis expert system, time domain analysis module, frequency domainanalyze the collected data, to extract the frequency characteristics and to determine fault, andthen compare test analysis on fault and fault simulation to draw research conclusions. Basedon the conclusions, we put forward constructive ideas and vision for the future against thistopic.
