With the rapid development of computer network technology and multimedia informationtechnology, video coding technology and video network transmission are becoming the researchfocus. The digital fountain coding technology can just meet the requirement. It can achieve thetransmission of video data safely and efficiently in almost every different network environment,so the digital fountain coding technology has a great application potential. This paper makes athorough research on the digital fountain coding. The algorithm is improved on the former basisand some results are attained. The main research works are as followed:First, the present of digital fountain coding, research status and application fields areintroduced briefly. Several existing fountain code are described and design of degree distributionis discussed. The most typical LT(Luby Transform) code is analyzed and simulated throughmatlab software.Applying chaos theory to the process of LT coding, an algorithm of LT coding anddecoding based on one-dimensional Markov mapping. During the LT coding, the random andergodicity of chaotic sequences are used to meet the requirement on the random sequence andreplace of primitive rand function to determine the degree of coding packets and selection ofadjacency packets. The simulation results show that the performance of LT coding gets asignificant improvement compared to the former LT coding.Under the communication conditions of high error, non-feedback and low-redundancy,aiming at fountain coding project with UEP capability, user satisfaction which was attained byusing the project in varied stratified environment is analyzed in the angle of layer number. Theconclusion is drawn that under the condition of high demand on delay time the less the layernumber is, the higher the user satisfaction will be and under the condition of attaching littleimportance on delay time the more the layer number is, the higher the user satisfaction will be.
