SPR-based nano optical technique and structure system have beenwidely and hot paid attention due to the magnitude prospect of applicationin solar cell,biosensing, data storage and super-resolution imaging etc. Thiswork was supported by “the International Scientific and TechnologicalCooperation Projects of Guizhou Province”,and further studies are conductedabout the light enhancement and confinement effects of the SPR-based opticalmetallic nanostructures, and relationship between resonant enhancement andstructure is exploited. Further more, detection and measurement on refractionindex of environmental material is applied by using a groove-resemblestructure proposed.Two methods are applied to model the dispersion characteristic of goldmaterial, which separately are classical Drude model and modified Drude model.The dipole type and bow-tie type structures are firstly studied about effectsof dimension,shape and substrate on the frequency-selected resonanceenhancement characteristics, including resonant magnitude, correspondingfrequency and distribution of energy. Further more, a combined E-typedstructure are put forward to study the dependence of localization of resonantenhancement and distribution of energy on the local micro-structure in themiddle gap, and also the multi-modes phenomenon. Finally, a groove-resemblemulti-modes structure with high characteristic and wider resonant areas areproposed and studied, intensities of the two rensonant areas both are about700times than illumintate intensity which is1V/m, and after a substrateintroduced, the magnitude of the first resonant area is up to800times,butthe second one disappears.Investigations and discusses are done on application in environmentaldetection and measurement such as refraction index and liquid solution byusing the frequency-selected enhancement of metallic nanostructure andcharacteristic of dual resonant areas and multiple parameters (about four)for the proposed groove-resemble structure. In the index region involved,there are three parameters which are linear with the refraction index,and forthe main one, their detection sensitivity is9′104(V/m)2/RIU,and corresponding detection resolation is10-4RIU,for another two sensitivitiesare separately891.2nm/RIU and513nm/RIU,although non-linear,theremaining one possesses relative high sensitivity in subregion of refractionindex. The structure studied can satisfy detections and measurements of liquidrefraction index and solution as well as crystal index, otherwise for the gasindex.What we do in this paper have an great value and research significanceon design of high-quality structure, and application in energy collection suchas solar cell, smart detecting and measuring systems especially in the caseof biosensing of human body, food security and environmental protection etc.
