Wireless sensor network(WSN) composed of large numbers of deployed wireless sensor nodes in monitoring area, is used for monitoring information of the target area. With the development of wireless sensor network, it has been widely applied in medical, military, industrial, agriculture and other fields, and it has a very good application prospect. However, its huge number, complicated working environment and its uncertainty is easy to cause the failure of wireless sensor network, and the failure is complex and diverse. Fault diagnosis is an effective method to ensure the normal work of the wireless sensor network, so the fault diagnosis technology based on wireless sensor network maintenance plays a huge role.Wireless sensor network is a whole system, and the relationship between the node and the network is inseparable, especially under the background of large-scale application. Node failure could lead to network failure, which affects the normal work of the wireless sensor network. The article is based on wireless sensor network node's modules to implement fault diagnosis. Proposing a fault diagnosis method with function of fault detection and fault identification. The main research content is as follows:(1)First, Induction and summarizes the existing related research results. By analyzing the current existing wireless sensor fault diagnosis methods, we can know about the characteristics of fault diagnosis object and classify wireless sensor network fault diagnosis, including network level and node level. Analysis the advantages and disadvantages of the existing fault diagnosis methods, and research on the wireless sensor network node structure and the characteristics of each module. So the fault diagnosis method is proposed in this paper which divided the node into modules and monitoring the modules' fault to realize fault diagnosis;(2)Second, Analysis node module level fault diagnosis strategy and designed a wireless sensor network node status monitor, which can monitor the working state of the energy module, the wireless sensor network node module, sensor module, the processor module and wireless communication module and save the fault parameters as fault vector. According to the fault vector for fault location;(3)Lastly, designing wireless sensor network node and setting up a wireless sensor network platform for experiment. According to the diagnostic strategy, designing experiment plan, and then validating the method is effective or not to provide support for the practical engineering application...
