Wireless Local Area Network Design Study

As widely utilization of LAN, WLAN is increasingly developed as the advantage of effective and easily setup. The WLAN was derived from the combination of computer network and wireless communication skill. From specialized perspective, WLAN used wireless Multiple Access Channel as an effective solution to support communication between computer, and enable the possibility of mobilization, characterization, multi-media of communication. Generally speaking, WLAN provides the function of Ethernet or token network without using traditional wire cable. Normally, the transmission channel mainly depends on copper cable or fiber, to setup wired LAN. However, LAN will be limited by cabling as some reasons:highly consumption of construction and change; easily to be destroyed; non-movable of each node of wired LAN. The cabling implementation of communication channel will be harder, more costive and longer implemented period when to connect long distance node, which is serious bottleneck of the highly increasing requirement of network implementation. The WLAN was created in order to resolve the issue mentioned as above, so that the utilization of WLAN is more and more widely, such as collage, airport, hotel, hospital and shopping mall…etc WLAN can support high speed network connection, people could enjoy network service through laptop and mobile phone.Compare to wired LAN, the technical advantage of WLAN is it could provide wireless bandwidth service to user in some popular areas. There are many areas could be searched and discussed on WLAN network design fine tuning, we are mainly focus on the discussion of type selection, WLAN setup, coverage design, AP design, change\mobilization and security…etc and further searching for architecture and design of real practice of WLAN setup in coming chapter. In order to resolve difficulty, figure out the answer of questions and new conception of issues during searching progress, and gain deeply understanding of WLAN after design completion.
