With the increasing of Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) channel quantity and the mature of reconfigurable optical add-drop multiplexer(ROADM) technology, Tunable optical filter (TOF) is considered an important selection in the field of optical communication network and system. Because the combination of tunable optical filter and laser source can turn into tunable laser, the development of tunable optical filter is inevitable important to the DWDM system. F-P cavity tunable optical filter based on the technology of thin film filter have many merits such as mature technique, high-performance, low cost and so on, therefore, it is the powerful competitor in the numerous solutions. This thesis targete tunable optical filter and integrade theory with practice to study it.This thesis integrade mature thin film filter with the technical advantage of precise micromotor controlling, which independent devise a new tunable optical filter based on TFF technology. This thesis advance the rollout of the design of optical path based patent and pass two times filtering each index of enhancing tunable optical filter module. It comes from the fundamental theory of thin film filter and integrades coating theory with polarization optics. This thesis advance the rollout of enhancing spectrum quality based increasing collimator facula dispersion angle which utilized the method of facula beam expanding. This thesis advances the rollout of a new tunable optical filter with calibrating wavelength which can realize high precision.This thesis firstly dissertate the importance of tunable optical filter in the future all optical networking, and introduce some living example of tunable optical filter in the different field. Chapter 2 discusses the method of realization and the evolution of research of tunable optical filter in currently. Chapter 3 anatomizes the frequency selection principle of F-P cavity tunable optical filter in the angle of rotation appearing multi-beam and the theory of thin film filtering. Chapter 4 firstly simulates all kinds of performance parameter of tunable optical filter module in the different angle and different mesentery, and put forward the design proposal of tunable optical filter, and analysis the feasibility of light path. Chapter 5 formulate testing scheme of tunable optical filter through the commercial standard. These chapters test the sample of device, and obtain the corresponding test data. Chapter 6 is the section of overclocking benchmarks.
