Taking the curriculum programs of physical education for four-year students in Anyang Normal University as the research object, the present educational philosophy as a guide, the latest“course program”issued by the Ministry of Education in China and related theories as the basis, and the curriculum programs in physical education of six universities at comparative targets, using literature, interviews with experts, questionnaires and other research methods, this thesis makes a systematic analysis for the curriculum programs of physical education for four-year students in Anyang normal University and offers suggestions for improvement as well, with the aim to offer a relatively scientific training programs to improve the teaching quality, promote the students’ personality development, and therefore provide support for society to cultivate physical education professionals with better qualities. It also provides a case-based, micro mode of curriculum programs which can be referred by different majors of related fields in physical education institutes. It is found that its training objectives limit its graduations within a narrow field to find a job, and some contents of training specifications are added in the part of objective expressions. An adjustment is made for its training objectives——”develop physical education teachers for primary and middle schools" and the parts of training specifications are canceled.Anyang Normal University should have its own special training specifications. The new design requires that the students should come to the standards of national third-class athletes and near the level of national second-class athletes, should acquire the second-class referee certificate and should obtain the national third-class certificates for at least two items in addition to their chief item, its vice-item coming to national standards for third-class players.Teacher-skill programs and science courses are wanting in its public compulsory curriculum. The new design contains the following additions: 18 hours of Mandarin courses,18 hours of Chinese word-writing courses, 36 hours of network application courses,36 hours of passage and comment writing courses. In its specialized compulsory subjects, academic subjects take too many hours, while the technical subjects take too less, in the ratio of 5.4:4.6. In the new design, the ratio of their teaching hours is 4.3:5.7. Its former specialized compulsory subjects take 1039 hours, while 1122 hours in the new design, which is near to 1126 required by the Ministry of Education.According to its former curriculum programs, the chance for the students to choose the restrictive selective courses is very slim. And there exists the duplication of elective courses. The present study arranges the selective courses according to different series. Restrictive selective courses fall into chief and vice items, together with other three series. Students are required to choose one from the chief and vice items respectively as their main and sub-items, make an arbitrary choice among three series as their theoretical strengths. Its professional selective courses share the characteristic of limited elective ones. Each subject takes too many hours and higher course scores. Course categories are set unbalanced. There is the lack of the new courses which can introduce subject information and the latest research advances. The new design adds some relevant courses, increasing the chance of choosing the arbitrary selective courses which is in accordance with the spirit of“small”elective course. Its practice contents are relatively simple. The practice takes the form of concentration and takes short time. The new design increases the content of educational practice; and teaching practice hours are extended to 14 weeks, organized with the combination of centralized and dispersed forms.
