Teacher-student relationship is the most important interpersonal relationship in Educational and teaching activities in higher vocational colleges. It’s an important factor affecting the smooth progress of teaching reform in higher vocational colleges, which has impact on teaching quality of higher vocational colleges, students’ growth, teachers’ professional development, campus construction and social development. In the field of education research, scholars have been paid great and close attention to the study of teacher-student relationship. However, most part of the researches mainly focus on the teacher-student relationship in general compulsory education and undergraduate higher education, the study of teacher-student relationship in higher vocational education the study has yet to be enriched. Looking from the existing research results, there were many theoretical researches in this field, but little of in-depth phenomenological and empirical study, also lack innovative research under the guidance of the theory.Although higher vocational education is an important type of higher education, but it has glaring discrepancy in terms of teaching mode, teaching activities, and the characteristics of teachers and students compared with undergraduate education. Teacher-student relationship in higher vocational education colleges has its own features. Firstly, the research, through organizing the literature, has all-round analysis of teacher-student relationship in higher vocational education colleges on the perspective of educational ecology. It reveals the connotation of higher vocational ecological teacher-student relationship from three aspects and summarizes the characteristics of the ecological relationship between teachers and students in higher vocational colleges. Secondly, with the use of questionnaire survey and interviews the paper investigates the first grade and second grade students and teachers in Tianjin Youth Professional College, Tianjin University of Technology and Education, Tianjin Modern Vocational Technology College and Tianjin Light Industry Vocational Technical College. The questionnaire focuses on the research of overall situation of teacher-student relations in higher vocational education colleges, and analyzes the problems in teacher-student relationship from diversity roles, interactivity, collaborative symbiosis, sustainability between teachers and students, so as to discover corresponding solutions.Finally, on the basis of analyzing the teacher-student relationship problems from society, colleges, and teachers, referencing the advanced education thought, following education reform programs in higher vocational education colleges the paper put forward corresponding suggestions on how to improve relationships between teachers and students on the perspective of combining theory and practice: keep pace with education reform and build ecological classroom full of vitality; Transform of the mode of teacher-student communication, promote cultural identity between teachers and students; Build communication platform between teachers and students, enhance the frequency and depth in teacher-student communication.
