The Case Study Of Social Work Intervention In Mentally Retarded People’s Parents With Resilience Lift

Persons with intellectual disabilities as part of the family our human society,and they get more and more attention as vulnerable groups. Given the current scientific, medical and technological development is limited, and the impact of the economic conditions of families own intellectual disabilities, those with intellectual disabilities do not achieve the desired level of rehabilitation, Some poor people with intellectual disabilities in rural areas, mostly not received rehabilitation. Whether in the rehabilitation of people with intellectual disabilities or in the daily care of people with intellectual disabilities, parents with intellectual disabilities have played a very important role in the long-term, compared with overseas Chinese parents with intellectual disabilities get little attention, the study also fragmented and not comprehensive, most the study are continuing to groping."Resilience" refers to the ability to withstand adversity, when individuals encounter difficulties they can be able to respond actively, resilience consists of three main factors: efficacy, sense of belonging and a sense of optimism.BY reading the literature I find that few scholars do reach on the resilience as well as the characteristics of these resilience that people with intellectual disabilities facing,let alone social work’s intervention.Because of my internship at X bodies over a period of time, so I have the opportunity to contact with mentally retarded people’s parents in X bodies. Through observation, interviews and other research methods i found that mentally retarded people’s parents facing psychological pressure, economic hardship, increased family conflicts,family prone fatigue, neighbors, community identity for people with intellectual disabilities, the degree of acceptance is not higher difficulties. And they are in the presence of a weak level of three factors resilience efficacy,sense of belonging, a sense of optimism. Therefore, the present study in this particular context, emerged, I selected A, E two families as a case study, and use professional methods of social work to promote their resilience.By A,in-depth study of the family of two people with intellectual disabilities E, preliminary draw by professional social work intervention methods can improve the level of resilience of people with intellectual parents, but I just parents with intellectual disabilities of the author’s research institution, So there are limitations of the study, in addition to the author of the theory and techniques of social work is not well related research and application, to be further improved.
