Illustrations are important curriculum resources of ideological and political textbooks in high school. it’s reappear the teaching content vividly, and with the guidance of teachers it can improve the students’ observation and thinking ability, it also can meet a variety of needs to students, and promote their all-round development, so as to increase the efficiency of the political teaching.Under the guidance of the "ordinary high school politics course standard (experiment)", the author summarizes and analyzes the achievements of predecessors for this topic, and combines the education of my own internship experience, and bases on the high school ideological and political textbook compulsory ②"the political life", analyzed and summarized some aspects of the illustrations. Meanwhile, I studied the use of illustrations in teaching process more deeply.From five aspects, the paper discusses the use of the illustrations in "the political life" teaching of the high school. At the first, it discuses the textbook illustrations in theory, including the definition, the characteristics, the types and the functions; Secondly, it expounds the current situation of the illustrations in "the political life" teaching of the high school; Thirdly, it probes into the problems of the illustrations in "the political life" teaching of the high school, then I analysis the reasons deeply; Fourthly, it discusses the principles and countermeasures for illustrations in "the political life" teaching of the high school; finally, it summarizes the effects of illustrations used in "the political life" teaching of the high school, and proceeded the further thinking.
