The famous Russian educationist Ushinski has said, "To students, teachers’ personality is a kind of educational force, which has great impacts on them. And it cannot be replaced by any textbooks, any moral truths, any punishments or any praises". As an implicit curriculum, teachers’ personal charisma can affect students’ English learning motivation, to a large extent. Looking through the whole researching history both in domestic and abroad, there are many investigations about how to activate students’ English learning motivation, such as the relationship between students’ learning attitudes and motivation, the relationship between teaching strategies and learning motivation, and so on. However, researches related to teachers’ personal charisma and students’ English learning motivation are not so many. And few of them has touched upon the high school students’ English learning motivation.Therefore, based on the previous studies both in domestic and abroad, the author has chosen "The Motivational Influence of Teachers’ Personal Charisma on High School Students’ English learning" as the researching topic. And the research aim is to are make the teachers be fully aware of the function of their personal charisma and try to improve it, in order to promote high school students’ English learning motivation.In this research, the author mainly has used the individual interview method and the questionnaire method. The former is designed for the high school English teachers and the latter is for the students. After organizing and analyzing the data, the author concluded that firstly, the English teachers have already fully aware of the influences of their personal charisma on students’learning motivation and they should try their best to improve it. Secondly, both teachers and students suppose that every aspect of teachers’ personal charisma will influence students’ English learning motivation. However, the two parties have certain divergences in terms of the influencing level of each aspect. Teachers hold that their talent charisma is the most influencing one and their English proficiency and personality charisma are the second important. Then their knowledge, morality and image charisma have the least influences. While for students, teachers’personality charisma means the most in their English learning. And teacher’talent and morality charisma are more influencing than their English proficiency, knowledge and image charisma have the least influences. Lastly, for students, there are some detailed influencing factors under each particular term of teachers’ personal charisma towards students’ English learning motivation. And every detailed factor has different influencing level. Specifically speaking, in teachers’ English proficiency, their oral English proficiency influences students’ learning motivation most. And teachers ’writing and listening proficiency are more influencing than their reading skills. Then in teachers’ knowledge charisma, their knowledge of western literature and culture has the greatest influences. At the same time, their subject knowledge, knowledge of other curriculum and modern technology also influence students’ English learning motivation in a second way. Then in teachers’ personality charisma, teachers’way of getting along with the students influences their learning motivation most. And teachers’ way of giving in-class or after-class feedback and managing the class seem to be not so influencing, compared with the former. Then in teachers’ morality charisma, teachers’ love of students, fair and responsible teaching attitudes seem to hold smaller influences than teachers’ uncorrupted way of living. In terms of teachers’ talent charisma, their teaching style and blackboard handwriting almost have the same greatest influences, while their teaching methods and researching skills seem to be less influencing. Then for teachers’ image charisma, their facial expression would be the most influencing factor and their make-up, clothing and hair style cannot be ignored as well.Moreover, based on the research results, the author has put forward some suggestions for the teachers to consider, such as changing their teaching belief, enhancing teachers’ English proficiency, enriching teachers’ knowledge storage, cultivating a good personality, developing higher teaching talent, reaching a higher morality level, and keeping an appropriate image.
