From a perspective of music aesthetic analysis, the strength, timbre, rhythm, beat, melody, concord, texture,orchestration and other musical performance factors which perform an all around aesthetic sound effect are the basic elements of the polyphonic music. So the appreciation of the polyphonic music can improve the formation process of junior school student’s aesthetic sentiment and meet their aesthetic requirements. Besides, its aesthetic connotations can provide a relative aesthetic value which has a greater advantage than the monophonic music in its musical performances. In addition, the teaching of the polyphonic music appreciation also provides a different result and helps the students acquire a distinct aesthetic experience comparing to the monophonic music. On the basis of investigation and research, the author finds that:Teachers usually ignored the importance of polyphonic music appreciation and rarely guided the students to appreciate the music from a polyphonic perspective. The students were also lacked of polyphonic hearing sense and could not understand the beauty of its sound effects. In order to meet their aesthetic requirements, it is necessary to pay more attentions to the polyphonic music appreciation and improve its teaching level.With the purpose of attracting more attentions of polyphonic music appreciation teaching and improving junior students’hearing ability and meeting their aesthetic requirements, the author took the Baoding NO.13 middle school in Hebei as an example and completed the topic of a research on the teaching of polyphonic music appreciation in junior schools through investigations and studies, such as understanding its polyphonic music appreciation teaching status, finding problems in the teaching process, concluding solutions and proving advices.
