Attribution research is an important psychological research field, Attribution research is put forward by American psychologist Weiner in the 1870s and corrected in 1980s. With the acceleration development of curriculum reform in our country, attribution research about students’ learning difficulties received widespread attention increasingly.In this article, we mainly use of attribution theory to do attribution research for high school English poor student which come from the remote minority areas in Yunnan province.There are five chapters in this paper:the first chapter mainly introduces the research background and research significance of this topic. The second chapter mainly summarizes the learning difficulties of poor student performance and its definition, the history and the latest progress in the study of attribution theory, attribution theory basis and attribution model and Weiner’s achievement motivation theory and attribution training, emotion attribution model. The third chapter of this article research, including research background, research purpose, research object and the questionnaire process. The fourth chapter for detailed analysis the result of the investigation. According to the questionnaire result analyses the characteristics of high school English poor student’s attribution and poor student attribution characteristics between boys and girls. And from the stability of the attribution, the internal and external cause, degree of controllable attribution difference of three dimensions to analysis the poor student of English, and expect and emotional reaction of attribution theory and success is convenient to do the differences in performance analysis. The fifth chapter is the teaching enlightenment. According to the above results of the questionnaire analysis, it is concluded that the attribution theory to the high school English teaching,especially to the poor student education of some enlightenment.Through surveys and studies have found that non-poor students are better than poor students for adept at doing instability and external attribution, poor students’ interest in learning, learning self-confidence significantly weaker than the non-poor students, and students with learning difficulties students of girls’ interest in learning and learning self-confidence than male poor students.The present study may be proposed by the daily work of teachers teaching some suggestions:high school English teacher for students with learning difficulties conversion, you can train students with learning difficulties from the start interest in learning English, students with learning difficulties learning to enhance confidence, stimulate their learning motivation, and combined with the daily work of teaching, learning strategy guide for students of different attribution tendency to make poor students to form a correct way and due to experience success and enhance self-efficacy.
