In the talents training scheme of higher vocational colleges, higher vocational mathematics is an important cultural basic course, as well as an essential professional foundation course, the teaching quality of higher vocational mathematics plays an important role for students to learn professional course, to cultivate skills, to improve the quality of thinking ability and the subsequent individual development.However, through questionnaire inquiry and interviews on the current status of higher vocational mathematics teaching, as people are not well acquainted to its position and role for higher vocational mathematics education, those teaching objective are not clear, those mathematics teaching content don’t adapt to professional demand, those teaching mode and teaching methods are old,those teaching evaluation are single, etc. All those make it is fairly low for effectiveness of higher vocational mathematics teaching.The purpose of this study aims to explore strategies to raise the higher vocational mathematics teaching effectiveness, so as to allow full play to the service function of higher vocational mathematics course. Through the study, the author proposes the following strategies:1、Correct concept of higher vocational mathematics education and definite objective of higher vocational mathematics teaching strategy. Higher vocational mathematics course is culture basic course for the students learning professional knowledge and subsequent knowledge, the students’ studying in higher vocational mathematics course should not only can train the students’ thinking ability, analyzing problem ability and solving problem ability, also train students’ positive studying spirit and studying attitude.2、Teaching content reform strategy for "applicative enough" as the principle in higher vocational mathematics course. The teaching content of higher vocational mathematics course should reflect application and close to the professional demand. Those teaching content in higher vocational mathematics course must be set up again, the teaching content should reflect the effectiveness of higher vocational mathematics teaching.3 、 Innovative teaching mode and flexible teaching method strategy. Considering carefully students’ math studying foundation, combining with the teaching type mode, we actively adopt modular type teaching mode, stratified type teaching mode, group cooperation type teaching mode and practice-probing type teaching mode, so as to improve the effect of higher vocational mathematics teaching.4 、 Diversiform and multiple teaching evaluation strategy. Single way of paper examination to students’ studying result is too simple, this way neglect students’ mathematics studying process, it can’t fully mobilize students’ initiative and enthusiasm in the mathematics studying. We not only gain great importance to the knowledge acquisition in their mathematics studying but also gain great importance to the improvement of skills and promoting of literacy, diversiform and multiple teaching evaluation index to students’ studying should be put into practice, so as to inspire students’ motivation in mathematics studying, and effectively improve the effect of higher vocational mathematics teaching.Through the teaching practice of higher vocational mathematics teaching effectiveness, a good result is achieved. Teachers’ teaching modes and students’ studying methods are both improved, the students’ interests in mathematics studying is inspired, the students’ confidence in mathematics studying is strengthened, the students’ ability of using mathematical thoughts and methods to solve practical problems is enhanced. All the strategi es play a role in the promoting mathematics teaching to professional course studying.
