A Study On The Employability Of Local Higher Vocational Colleges

Developing vocational education is one of the priorities during the 13th Five-Year Plan. The employability of vocational college students is the key to development of vocational education. Vocational college students need to enhance employability under the government, business, vocational colleges and vocational college students own efforts. The State Council’s departments in order to deal with the difficult problems of employment of vocational students, they put up with some corresponding introduction of the relevant policies. Motivated by the national macro-employment policy, higher vocational colleges also make the transformation. But the transformation of higher vocational colleges more remains in form. There are still problems in the training system, the needs of employers. The situation is more serious in local vocational colleges. Paying attention to the cultivation of local employment capacity of vocational college students, analyzing the factors that have the effects on vocational students’employment ability, exploring ways to enhance the employability of the culture of college students in higher vocational colleges is an urgent responsibility of employment guidance in higher vocational colleges.In this study, under the existing theories and practice of researches, use the methods, such as literature, questionnaire, education statistics, interviews and case studies. Take the Vocational and Technical College of Yanbian 235 vocational students and employers as the subjects by questionnaires and interviews. Understand the current situation, identify problems and cause analysis. Finally, put up the countermeasures to enhance the employability of vocational college students.The results are shown below:(1) Students’employment consciousness and self-cultivation capacities are weak. The employability level of college students in Vocational and Technical College of Yanbian is in the lower side, followed by basic ability, practical ability, innovation and entrepreneurship, the ability to apply for career planning. (2) Faculty research capacity is low. And school conditions need to be improved. (3) The degree of integration of production with teaching, practice restricts the ability of students, employers on the overall evaluation of Vocational and Technical College Students in Yanbian in the general level. That the relative capacity of the strongest candidates, relatively poor basic skills and practical ability. (4) Lack of school funding. Affect basic quality of personnel training and practical ability. It does not meet the requirements of the employers. (5) School security mechanism is not regular. It hinders the development of the employability of the students. Yanbian Vocational and Technical College students’practice is poor that mostly deal with the matters. It is not promoted to enhance their employability. The reasons for these problems are as follows:(1) Lack of specific training objectives. Training ways are single. (2) Career education system is not formed. (3) Faculty and training base construction is lagging behind. (4) Insufficient capital investment, school-enterprise cooperation policy is not perfect. (5) School-enterprise cooperation motivation is not high. It is difficult to guarantee the effectiveness of cooperation in training.According to the results, specific measures are as follows:(1) Increase investments and strengthen policy support to promote school-enterprise cooperation. (2) Participate in school-enterprise cooperative culture and the whole process of evaluation of students. (3) Strengthen the "double" teachers, innovative training base construction. (4) Construction of Career Guidance System, the implementation of career guidance. (5) Encourage entrepreneurship experiences and enhance the employability of awareness and experience.This study provides model reference data and methodology basis for the establishment and implementation of the Vocational Training Colleges innovation. It enhances the ability of local employment provided vocational college students learn from the experience.
