The Status,Effect And Improvement Of Social Support For The Elderly In China

In recent years, the full opening of the two child policy, delaying the retirement age and other policies have became the focus of national debate. The proposed policy fully proved that China has entered a stage of rapid aging.In this paper, based on the seriousness of the problem of aging society as the background, combined with professional practice experience, and the social practice experience in China scientific research center of Peking University on "China in the elderly health and retirement" project group, using CHARLS project’s research data, the writer chooses the elderly as the object of study and studies their social support.This paper describes the social support of the elderly in our country from three aspects:economic supply support, social security support and mental health support. Firstly, at the aspect of economic supply support:the elderly reemployment rate and the proportion of elderly people with wage income are very low. Usually children’s helping is its main source of income, and the more children in a family,the greater of the total economic support; When they face a major accident, relatives,friends and neighbors will become the main source of economic support. Secondly, in the aspect of support for social security:the characteristic of the current elderly pension and medical insurance are varied and wide covered. All kinds of insurance contributions to the main body is also different, which self-service payment dominates. Thirdly, at the aspect of mental health support:the elderly spiritual comfort derived from the care of their children. The children go home everyday to visit their parents. In addition, they also care for the elderly through the telephone, Wechat and other ways. But the current health examination support of the elderly has some problems, for example, the physical examination rate is low, and physical examination institutions are insufficient and not excellent.On this basis, this paper introduces the concept of subjective well-being, as the effect of social support, and then, in contrast to taking the social support of the elderly in our country into consideration. This article describes the middle-aged and elderly people in five aspects, including health condition, memory state, satisfaction, depression and future perception. Generally speaking, by contrast the current condition to a year ago, the elderly have negative feelings about their health status, memory status and future state of perception, but in the self depression status and current stage of life satisfaction, the elderly show a higher positive mood.By summarizing the description of social support status and feedback effects of middle aged and elderly people in China, this paper analyzes the factors that affect the social support network of the elderly, which contains policy making, policy implementation and public awareness.according to the macro, medium and micro levels, the writer puts forward feasible optimization to improve the social support network of the elderly in China.
