Chinese Teaching & Studies, founded in 1979 by the Department of Chinese of Central China Normal College (current Central China Normal University), is one of the representative publications about Chinse teaching and learning in secondary schools. With 40 years of history, the magazine has always focused on reading and writing, learning and teaching methods, curriculum standards and textbook studies in Chinse teaching and learning in secondary schools, emphasized the importance of guiding Chinese teaching and research with scientific theories, and provided useful guidance for Chinese teachers in teaching and studies. In a sense, it has witnessed the changes of Chinese teaching and learning in secondary schools after the reform and opening up.This article in the journal of Chinese Teaching & Studies as the research object, through content analysis, literature analysis, interview and so on for the publication of the principle, development process, the survival environment, editing features, explore the mode of operation, the existence question, and puts forward some countermeasures.This paper took Chinese Teaching & Studies as the object, studied its purpose, history, editing features, development environment, operation mode, and existing problems, and made some recommendations as reference for the magazine’s sustainable development.
