In the task of Enhangce morality and foster talents background, the ability of middle school geography teachers is the key to shoulder the mission of geography education. This study suggests that the core competence of geography teachers is the top of the ability structure of geography teachers in pyramid, it is the exclusive ability of geography teachers to do the work of geography education. Geography teachers’ professional core competencies have the ability to complex nature, can be from the macro, meso and micro levels of deconstruction of it. To diagnosis geography teachers’ professional education core competencies, it is based on the presence or deviations geography teachers’ professional core competencies inadequate.Geography theory, geography curriculum and teaching theory, teacher professional development theory, educational diagnostic theory is the theoretical basis of this study. The core competence of geography teachers has the characteristics of value, knowledge, heterogeneity, dynamic and testability. Based on clear criteria, ability orientation, objective diagnosis, diagnostic development, comprehensive diagnosis, specific diagnosis and other principles of the relevant diagnostic, the diagnosis method used in this research is the analysis of the works. The perspective of diagnostic analysis focuses on the two elements of instructional design and curriculum resource development in geography teaching design, Teaching objectives and curriculum resources have the corresponding relationship.On the basis of expert consultation and literature research, combined with the actual needs of the study, construct the standard system of core competence based on the analysis of the works, especially the development of specific teaching objectives and curriculum resources development of diagnostic criteria. According to the diagnostic criteria, select a number of geography teachers work cases for case diagnosis. Through the diagnostic and practice of geography teachers’teaching objective design and curriculum resource development, there are many problems found geography teachers’ professional core competencies. Based problem, at the end of this paper, from the point of view of teaching objective design and curriculum resource development, this paper puts forward the development strategy of the core competence of geography teachers.Development strategies from different aspects of teaching objective design and curriculum resource development, it has a certain relevance and feasibility. Preparation for teaching objective design, to fully understand the geography curriculum standard, to deeply grasp the students’ learning situation, analyze the structure of the teaching materials, to recognize the teaching environment; writing links in teaching objectives design, emphasis on the use of standardized statements of technical packaging and integration of ideas to write goals; feedback link in Instructional design, pay attention to the development of inspection and diagnosis in practice. Preparation for the development of curriculum resources, curriculum standards are clear development guidelines. developed under the guidance of the teaching objectives, to maximize the use of good material to play two main initiative and teamwork to build the repository; in the course of the development of the use of resources, to emphasize the integration in the teaching process, at the same time echoing other teaching elements; the feedback link of curriculum resource development, to be tested in practice and to be developed through diagnosis.
