Tang and Song poetry is not only a gem in the five-thousand-year corridor of outstanding traditional Chinese culture,but also the most dazzling existence in the Milky Way of splendid classic literary works.Since its advent,it has been loved and praised by readers through the ages and highly favored by Chinese textbook compilers.Due to changes in curriculum standards,changes of the times,different value orientation and other reasons,different lists of Tang and Song poetry were selected into different editions of senior-high-school Chinese textbooks in different periods.As a case study of senior-high-school Chinese textbook 2003 and curriculum standard editions by People's Education Press(PEP),the paper compared and contrasted the lists of selected Tang and Song poetry in those two editions,analyzed their own characteristics and the causes of differences between them,and then discussed innovations in the curriculum standard one.By contrasting the two editions,the author was hoping to put forward suggestions on the feasible usage of selected Tang and Song poetry in the curriculum standard edition.The body of the paper consists of three chapters:The introduction part mainly expounds the origin and significance of the topic,the status quo of related studies.Chapter One shows the statistical results and analysis of selected Tang and Song poetry in 2003 and curriculum standard editions,mainly cover their lists and amounts of selected pieces,common and unique pieces as well as the poets,structures and subject matter of those pieces.Chapter Two shows the summarized characteristics of the two editions in selecting and compiling Tang and Song poetry,detailed comparison and contrast between their common pieces with Jinse as an example,and discussions on the relationship of changes in selecting and compiling with curriculum standards and value orientation.Chapter Three shows some scientific suggestions on the usage of selected Tang and Song poetry in the curriculum standard edition that teachers should instruct in accordance with the standards and accurately position the original pieces.With Jinse as an example,the author also put forward some specific suggestions on teaching design,hoping to benefit all the teachers.
