As living standards improve and medical condition develop, life expectation in China continuously increases. However, it does not lead to higher level of residents’ physical and mental health. Modernization and urbanization bring affluent materials for us, but they also bring some problems such as environmental pollution fierce competition and heavy living pressure at the same time, which affect the residents’ physical and mental health. In order to increasingly improve residents’health, it is necessary to study the related factors. This paper takes the angle of urban residents’social network to explore social network’s influence mechanism on residents’physical and mental health. The data used in this paper comes from JSNET2014, and contingency table and Ordered Logistic Regression model are used to analyze the characteristics of residents’social network and its influence on P&M health. The study conclusions show that:(1)Urban residents’Chinese New Year Greeting Network scale has positive effect on their P&M health, that is to say, the bigger the scale, the healthier residents feel; but the personal Electronic Greeting Network plays a reversing role, and it is necessary to do further study about the reason of the opposite influence. (2) The higher the density, the stronger the homogeneity, the more the strong ties of urban residents’social network, the more likely they have better P&M health. (3) There is a significant age difference of social network’s influence on P&M health, but the heterogeneity of social network does not have a significant effect on P&M health between the residents of different ages.
