The New Curriculum Standard of High School English for Chinese Students, carried out in 2013, proposes that the main aim is to make students learn English purposely, develop autonomous and cooperative learning ability and cultivate the students’ comprehensive language application ability on the basis of learning English in the stage of compulsory education. As a brand-new and subjective teaching pattern, interactive teaching fully represents the leading role of teachers and gives full play to the subjectivity of students. Therefore, interactive teaching has gradually become a hot research topic at home and abroad. However, because of the influences of traditional English teaching and pressure from the College Entrance Examination, interactive teaching in English class of high school has not been effectively implemented, In order to improve English proficiency of high school students, the thesis will study teachers’ professional quality, students’ autonomous interaction ability and evaluation systems from the perspective of Ausubel and constructivism learning theories to explore the effective English interactive teaching model for high school.Interactive teaching model is an evolutionary and sequential process during which teaching is taken as the mutual interaction and communication of both teachers and students, and teaching and learning come to unification. The theory of interactive teaching which is effectively applied in English class in high school would greatly improve the English study of high school students. The present research tries to explore the following questions:1. What are the problems in implementing interactive teaching in English class of high school?2. What are the strategies to solve the corresponding problems? The author adopts the method of the combination of quantitative analysis with qualitative analysis n this paper.By means of student questionnaire, teacher interview and classroom observation, the status of English interactive teaching in high school is intended to be studied. The survey subjects mainly include 4 English teachers (including 3 females and 1 male) of senior one grade and 160 students of the four classes in the No.1 High School of Shangcai County in Henan Province. Subjects of the questionnaire were these 160 students. Subjects for the interview were these 4 teachers. Classroom observations were conducted in these 4 classes separately.Major findings of the study are presented as follow:firstly, the existing problems in English interactive teaching in high school are mainly presented in teacher’s level, students’level and evaluation criterion level; secondly, based on the theories of Ausubel and constructive "learning and teaching", the effective strategies to solve the corresponding problems mainly include promoting teaches’professional quality, improving students’autonomous interaction ability, realizing effective classroom interaction and establishing multiple evaluation system.Interactive classroom teaching model is a complicated and long-term process which needs continuous improvement. Although there are some limitations in the research, the research findings undoubtedly provide some references for the further study of interactive classroom teaching in high school. Hope this study could have some guidance and reference effect on the practical English teaching in high school.
