Once the concepts of Lifelong Education and Lifelong Learning have been put forward, they have been paid great attention and concern of the international society. Many countries have carried out various kinds of activities about Lifelong Learning. As the development of the focus on this, related activities become more and more prosperous. Soon after the concept of "Learning Festivals" was first proposed, many other countries began to imitate it. After forty years of development, nowadays, "Lifelong Learning Week" has become an important issue of Lifelong Learning."Lifelong Learning Week" is an important celebration and promotion of Lifelong Learning, is an important practice for the theory of Lifelong Education and Lifelong Learning, and is also an important exploring way to perfect old theories.Although there are many researchers from home and abroad who have studies these activities. Unfortunately, most of their studies stay at the fist introduction and report of their native activities. There is no theory study of "Lifelong Leaning Week", and there is no researcher who has done any research of "Lifelong Leaning Week" comparison. This research is proposed under such conditions, and the author sincerely hopes to achieve the following aims. One is to be able to fill the vacancy of related theory researches, another is to publicize and promote the practice of "Lifelong Learning Week".This study uses literature analysis, activity participation, interviews and communications, and taking comparative research perspective. It begins with basic concept definitions of Lifelong Education, Lifelong Leaning and "Lifelong Leaning Week", and on the basis of the present situation of China and Australia’s Lifelong Learning and "Lifelong Learning Week". By focusing and learning the political economy and history culture of the two countries, this study compares and analyzes "Lifelong Learning Week" of the two countries from four dimensions:the propose of the activity, the content of the activity, the strategies of the activity and the effectiveness of the activity. Through the study, the author has got a new understanding of "Lifelong Learning Week"To begin with, "Lifelong Learning Week" is a theory support and results display of Lifelong Leaning.Then, "Lifelong Learning Week" is an important carrier of the expansion of Lifelong Leaning; To sum up, in order to successfully hold "Lifelong Learning Week", organizers should take three aspects of the strategy into consideration.
