The geracomium as a public pension institutions will become a lot of elderly pension options. However, the majority of our country current geracomium pay more attention to the elderly living needs, ignoring the need for spiritual and cultural needs of the elderly and interpersonal. Due to the lack of professional social work personnel, causing the elderly in the gerocomium’s quality of life is not high. This paper take the Being’s T geracomium as an example mainly by the introduction, research design, gerocomium’s profile and for needs analysis, Group work practice in geracomium, problems and suggestions and conclusions of six parts composed.This paper according to activity theory and group dynamics theory as the theoretical basis to explore Group Work methods of social work is effective in the street geracomium pension model. The early group activities, using the interview and observation analyze the basic situation and needs of the elderly of the T geracomium.The middle group activities, use the method of Group Work, carried out four theme activities. Through activities to ease the elderly brought by loneliness and discomfort because of the change of living environment. Through the mutual cooperation between the elderly in the process, indirectly for the elderly were psychological care and psychological counseling, establish friendly relations between the elderly, completed the goal of group activities. The latter part of the group, it is mainly to summarize the study of the group, to help the team members to prepare for departure, to conduct the assessment of the group and to follow up problems.Through the four group activities carried out, confirmed that the method of Group Work is feasible and effective in street geracomium. Of course, there is no any work method has no limit, the group work method is no exception. In the concrete practice process found some questions worth pondering, the group activity in the T geracomium showed problems mainly include:group before personnel recruitment limited level of professional way is single, the group activities too few times, social workers and the elderly care workers lack of cooperation and working methods single. At the end of the paper, in view of the problem put forward solutions, such as:various recruiting way combination, increase the number of group activities, improve the proportion of experienced professional social workers, strengthen the combination with care workers cooperation, social work methods and so on.Through the Group Work in T geracomium practice, confirmed the group work practicality in the street gerocomium, also confirmed this institution endowment pattern to continue to play its effective role, promote the development of the China pension mode diversification. At the same time, also found that combining the three methods of social work will be more conducive to the China street geracomium and the development of pension institutions.
