Mathematics textbooks are revised and optimized in our country since the /compulsory education mathematics curriculum standards(2011 edition)0had implemented. Mathematics textbooks are the important resources in the mathematics teaching, also one of the important factors that influence students’ learning effect.Due to differences in cultural background and education concept, mathematics textbooks in China and abroad have great differences in the aspects of learning content,presentation ideas and methods etc. Therefore, it has more important reference to research the similarities and differences of mathematics textbooks in China and abroad for the construction of mathematics textbooks and the teachers’ instruction.Mathematics textbooks published by Beijing normal university press and/maths links0 published by Oxford University press are researched in the paper by these study methods, such as comparative analysis, literature method, quantitative analysis etc. Firstly, comparative study literatures are generalized in this paper in order to clarify the research question. Secondly, mathematics teaching content and teaching concept are figured out through the comparison of mathematics curriculum standard in China and England. Thirdly, the whole textbooks, Number and Algebra, Graphics and Geometry, Statistics and Probability are compared from the macro and micro aspects. Finally, the comparative conclusions are summarized, and some suggestions on the compilation of junior high school mathematics textbooks in China put forward.The research shows, the proportion of /Number and Algebra0, /Graphics and geometry0 of the mathematics textbooks of Beijing Normal University is more than that of Oxford in terms of content breadth. In cases of exercise settings, Oxford textbooks example exercises selected is more interesting than Beijing Normal University Textbooks. In terms of content processing, /Number and Algebra0 of Oxford textbooks lay particular stress on mental arithmetic learning, and the deductive proof in /Graphics and Geometric0 of Beijing normal university textbooks is more important than Oxford textbooks. The topics and data collection of Statistics and Probability of Oxford textbook are more fit the students’ life situation. Learning environment settings and information technology are all great important in the two version textbooks. On the basis of comparative study conclusions, the suggestions are put forward from the aspects, such as the interesting and systematic, simplicity and service, the setting of learning objectives and test questions before class, the mathematical quality and interesting of knowledge introduction etc.
