History of mathematics is an indispensable content of mathematics education.The mathematics curriculum standard for compulsory education(2022 Edition)also points out the necessity of integrating mathematics history into mathematics teaching.However,at present,the integration of mathematics history into mathematics teaching in junior high school is "easier said than done".Therefore,from the perspective of the HPM,the integration of mathematics history and junior high school mathematics textbooks and the application of mathematics history in teaching are worth studying.This paper takes the current junior high school mathematics textbooks of People’s Education Edition,Beijing Normal University Edition,East China Normal University Edition and Shanghai Science and Technology Edition as the research objects,adopts the methods of literature research,text analysis and comparative analysis,and focuses on the modes of integrating mathematics history into mathematics textbooks.This paper discusses the distribution characteristics of integration modes and integration level of mathematics history from the whole and the four dimensions which are knowledge domain,position,type and value orientation of mathematics history.The study found that,on the whole,there are various integration modes of mathematics history in textbooks,but the distribution is not balanced,mainly in the mode of "direct presentation",and lack of deep integration of the history of mathematics.There are differences among different editions of textbooks.The integration level of mathematics history in the textbook of Beijing Normal University Edition is the highest,while the integration level of mathematics history in the textbook of East China Normal University Edition is the lowest.In each dimension,the distribution of the integration modes of mathematics history has its own characteristics and the integration level of mathematics history is different.Based on the integration of mathematics history and junior high school mathematics textbooks,this paper uses the method of case analysis to carry out the case design and analysis of "The concept of irrational number","Rectangular coordinates system" and "Estimating probability with frequency".The application strategies of mathematics history in teaching are summarized,including using mathematics history to set up problem situations to stimulate learning interest,recreating mathematics history to promote cognitive development,using mathematician stories to enhance humanistic feelings and transforming the integration modes of mathematics history to improve the integration level of mathematics history.Finally,according to the research conclusion,some suggestions are put forward in the compilation and use of textbooks.
