Physical education and aesthetic education is an important part of education, the relationship between them is not a simple stack, but the mutual fusion, emphasis on aesthetic education in PE teaching can increase students’ awareness of sports aesthetics and enhance sports teaching effect. In today’s basketball education, aesthetic education is still very lacking. First of all, on the physical education teacher, mainly is to teach basketball related technical knowledge and skills, but for basketball aesthetic education function of physical education are not enough attention. Second, coach of physical education, the necessity of aesthetic factors in understanding insufficiency, then, the number of PE teachers in the use of multimedia in the teaching process is too little, the teaching content is more onefold, which limits the development of aesthetic education in basketball teaching.The author hope that through the study of the investigation and research of Taiyuan middle school basketball teaching, the concept of aesthetic education in basketball teaching, explore the characteristics, content and teaching method, and the problems that exist in the middle school sports education now further analysis, in order to implement aesthetic education in middle school basketball teaching accumulate data, provide a reference basis of theory and practice, teaching design and implementation of targeted, improve the effect of aesthetic education in basketball teaching.The author mainly adopts questionnaire investigation method to study the aesthetic behavior of the physical education teachers, aesthetic education teaching ability, the students’ aesthetic consciousness, aesthetic ability, use the method of empirical analysis of the current situation of the aesthetic education in basketball teaching, and puts forward corresponding countermeasures. Through investigation and study, found that teachers’ awareness of aesthetic education is relatively shallow, insufficient attention to the implementation of aesthetic education, and teaching content very single, influence the effect of aesthetic education, at the same time the student feel beauty of basketball sport ability unbalanced development, finally aimed at these problems, the author puts forward some Suggestions: first, to strengthen the training of teachers; Second national and school should publish relevant policy, from system level to ensure that the aesthetic education teaching; In the end, schools should be equipped with corresponding teaching tools, ensure the smooth progress of aesthetic teaching.
