Research On Existing Problems And Development Countermeasures Of Yoga Teacher Post-training In China

Yoga is an ancient Indian method which can help people keep fit and cultivate one’s morality and has been widely spread throughout the world. Along with the implementation of National Fitness Regulations (2009) and National Fitness Plan (2011-2015) in China, yoga has been developed rapidly with its unique way to keep healthy. In recent years, yoga has become a fashion way of exercise for citizens in our country. Now, however, yoga has not yet formed an orderly development mode, in many aspects, it still lacks of limitation which hinder the healthy and the harmonious development of Yoga in China. Yoga teacher has become a fashion career for its flexible working time and comfortable working environment, high salary, low pressure, etc. In the propagation process of yoga, yoga teachers play a backbone role for they are not only the passers of yoga knowledge, but also the passers of yoga culture. Therefore, finding and researching the existing problems of the yoga teacher training is extremely important to make suggestions and countermeasures for cultivating eligible yoga teachers. It not only has theoretical significance but also has practical significance.This article use the literature data method, questionnaire survey method, interview method, case study method, field survey method, mathematical statistics research method to investigate the present situation of yoga teacher training development and find out existing problems and analyse the reasons. Furthermore, the research summarizes the way of yoga teacher training and analyze the characteristics of two special cases:Jining Yoga Institute and Yogaworks in America to sum up the experience and shortage for training eligible yoga teachers in order to lay a basis for the yoga teacher training standardization development in China.Through the analysis, the current problems existing in the yoga teacher training mainly include:Yoga teachers’working time is too short and they are lack of overall in-depth cognition of yoga culture and philosophy; The course systems in most yoga teacher training institutions are not unified and the quality of training is difficult to guarantee;There is lack of unified syllabus and reference book list for Yoga teacher training; Yoga teacher training examination in China has no grade standard and the certificate authentication is chaotic; The yoge teacher training expenses is too expensive and there is no unified regulation and standards in China still now; There are few formal schooling education for yoga teacher training and sports colleges and universities have not cultivated enough professional yoaga teachers;This research aims at the problems existing in the yoga teacher training and puts forward the following suggestions:Deepen the cultural understanding of yoga teachers and constantly update their theory knowledge and teaching experience; Yoga experts should establish unified yoga association and supervise social yoga teacher training institutions; Gather experienced yoga teachers to make a syllabus and a reference book list for all the yoga teacher training institution; Draw lessons from foreign mature certificate authentication and establish a yoga teacher registration system with Chinese characteristics; Make the Internet yoga online communication platform to provide the public lectures of yoga and provide employment information; Sports colleges and universities should open yoga specialized courses to improve the quality of the professional yoga teacher training.
