Research On The Current Situation Of Filial Piety Of Contemporary College Students And Educational Countermeasures

Filial piety culture is a tradition and outstanding cultural heritage of our country which has been respected for many years. From the beginning of the Warring States period Confucianism, filial piety has become a basic requirement ethics, and filial piety plays incomparable role for the individual, family and society. With the development of China’s economy, after joining the WTO, the ideas of Western countries has been transmitted in China, and while college students have strong acceptance for new ideas and new things, and which undoubtedly poses a challenge to the students; and further aging issues become increasingly prominent. In college life, how to establish a sense of filial piety and become a filial talents have been a topic of the times. In this context of this paper, filial piety of the current college students has been the researched.This research paper mainly adopt literature analysis, interviews and questionnaires, and through collection of domestic and international data on college students’ filial education, and summarizes the current research of senior scholars. On this basis, the analysis of the scope and connotation of filial piety has been given in this paper. Idea that piety education will help to strengthen national cohesion, and promote patriotism, and promote social stability and help harmonious family formation and improvement of college students’ basic moral quality has been given in this paper. Piety education also can promote personal development. Through researching students in Shenyang Agricultural University, Liaoning technical University and Liaoning engineer and technical college, and it is found that the current college students’ mainstream consciousness of filial piety is positive and healthy, but the lack of filial piety phenomenon still exited and awareness of parental care are weak, and they can not meet the expectations of parents in their study. They lack of respect for parents and lack of emotional communication with their parents. parents spiritual needs for them can not be satisfied and so on. According to the current issue of filial piety among college students, it is found that many aspects lead to the appearance of the problem. This problem can be researched in four aspects, themselves, family, school and the social. And on this basis, this paper also contains the countermeasures for improving the education of students to practice filial piety. First the students themselves have to improve their self-cultivation, and strengthen the practice of filial piety education, timely piety, and develop good habits. Second build harmony family environment, and pay more attention to family filial piety education, and establish a correct concept of filial piety. Third strengthening importance of filial piety in school education, and improve filial piety and realize diversification of filial piety education. Forth, to strengthen social education, create a good social environment.
