| Classroom life is the main part of students’life. It has its significance in students’ moral growth. This research will answer the following questions through classroom observation and interview:How is the current situation of students in classroom? Will our classroom life show a new atmosphere? What does the classroom life mean to the students’moral growth?According to Aristotle’s virtue ethics, virtue means all the laudable characters, including intellectual virtue and moral virtue. The former is cultivated and developed through teaching, and the later is developed through habits. People’s virtue is shown by their behaviors. The virtue in classroom life signifies the virtue and potential virtue that are cultivated and shown by students through the process of classroom life, namely, the virtue that is formed in the classroom life(e.g. positive thinking and listening to others carefully) and the virtue that is formed outside the classroom but shown in classroom life(e.g. cooperation and humility). These two means of virtue are not absolutely separate, but are overlapping in most of time.This paper mainly adopts the descriptive and explanatory way of narrative inquiry. In addition to the introduction, the thesis consists of four chapters. The first part is the introduction, which introduces the origin of the study, research questions, research methods, research process and so on. The first chapter briefly explains the research object, which is intended to be placed in time and space, shows the overall appearance of the research object, and provides the necessary background basis for the appearance of the study object. The second chapter is the main part of the thesis, and the basic situation of the classroom life is described in detail. Based on the ideas from which the whole to the part and the dominant to the recessive, this part describes the outline of classroom life firstly, then enter the local description. From discusses the space-time structure, role relationship, and event types to describe the dominant dimension of classroom life, then discusses on the hidden dimension of classroom life from the perspective of system and culture. Finally, analyses the two main categories of classroom life:teachers and students. Chapter three based on the case study, and deeply analyses the attributes of classroom life and its potential significance to the development of students’ morality. Through the research, this study believes that our primary school classroom life presents an orderly and lively atmosphere on the whole, and democratic atmosphere is gradually forming, normality and liberty compatible together, these has broken through the traditional classroom life which is rigid, boring, passive, and suppressed. In terms of the growth of students’ virtues, It is conducive to the growth of rational virtue and moral virtue. |
