Since 2004, China formally promulgated the new curriculum scheme of senior high school(Experiment), and began to carry out in parts of the country. The purpose of the reform is "for each student’s development", under this reform, the school curriculum has changed in its setting and implementation focus. Therefore, the course curriculum planning study determines the success or failure. Curriculum planning is also guidance to schools with curriculum reform plays a positive relationship, Curriculum planning is also guidance to schools with curriculum reform plays a positive correlation, successful school curriculum planning is beneficial to guide the specific curriculum reform, and promote the progress and development of the school. The development direction and vice versa may mislead the school, serious may even make the school into chaos. This can be seen school planning is extremely important, it is imperative to study. This paper through the literature research method, comparative method, introduces the present situation of school curriculum planning case study on the American high school to California. Asian curriculum planning status and problems as the main object of study, in accordance with the state and school second grade of American high school curriculum, curriculum characteristics graduation requirements are described. And to piedmont high school in California(Piedmont High School and Lynbrook High school), such as the United States ranked in the top 100 high school as a case to study, a detailed analysis of the California high school in the school curriculum planning.California high school curriculum offers not only a wide range, covering a wide range, and it is closely related to students’ life; at the same time, in the process of classroom teaching, always reflects the with students as the center, training students’ basic skills, the student’s physical health and full development, meet the training requirements of the international society for qualified citizens.
