In recent years, with the deep reform of a new round of middle school curriculum, more and more English teachers and researchers pay attention to the study of situational teaching. The reason why situational teaching can be highly praised is that it is greatly adapted to the characteristics of mental and age of middle-school students. In actual teaching, students are given prominence to the “independent” status and become the real master of the classroom. Teacher establishes the teaching situation close to real life, which makes a good relation between learning knowledge and real life, and allows students to integrate knowledge to solve life’s problems, at the same time, enhances the application ability of them in order to achieve the goal of putting into practice what they have learned. In addition, situational teaching can improve students’ interest in learning, stimulate students’ motivation to learn so that students can take an active part in learning.Situational teaching is greatly advocated, but in real classroom, due to the frontline teachers haven’t enough understanding about situational teaching, there are many problems in the process of applying. Therefore, it is necessary to study situational teaching in English class in middle school.The study includes the five parts:The first part is the introduction. This part mainly explains research background, the significance of the research, the theoretical and practical support of the research and research methods.The second part is the literature and meaning explanation. The part explains the research at abroad and home on this issue, the meaning of situation, situational teaching and English situational teaching.The third part is the problems of English situational teaching in middle school. This part is mainly an empirical study, through the preparation of questionnaires, extracting and analyzing research.The fourth part is the reasons why there are problems in English situational teaching in middle school. They are explained from teacher and student two aspects.The fifth part is the reflections of English situational teaching in middle school. They are explained from education department, school, family, teacher and student five aspects.
