The practical reason for thinking how to break through the curriculum structure dilemma of Upgraded Application-Oriented Undergraduate Colleges is to seek a method to solve their developing problems. At present, many of higher level laborers possessing skills and knowledges are the key to the upgrade and transformation of our state. Higher education, a subsystem of the society, has the responsibility to maximize the function of social reproduction, and cooperate with other subsystems to cultivate a large number of applied talents to meet the needs of economy and society. Upgraded Application-Oriented Undergraduate Colleges is a main force to cultivate applied talents, and their curriculum is the key. The theoretical reason is that many existing researches focus on a single perspective, for instance, applied talents cultivation,practical application, transformation subject logic to problem logic, and social education perspective. This thesis chooses a more systematic and more comprehensive perspective to study this issue, and wishes to rich the existing results.Through the main research methods,such as literature research, comparative studies, and empirical investigation, this thesis analyzes the primary function of Upgraded Application-Oriented Undergraduate Colleges is cultivating applied talents to serve local society and business. And reasonable curriculum structure is its base and guarantee. Based on these, this thesis analyzes the connotation, characteristics and the influencing factors of their curriculum structure, and studies reasons of the dilemma. Then by using the successful experience of the same kind universities abroad for reference. Based on this, this thesis put forward proposals to break through their curriculum structure dilemma.At the micro aspect, application should be highlighted to make curriculum objectives be more according with the need of society, and curriculum structure more targeted. Curriculum content should be paid more attention to professional. Besides, it is equally important to pay attention to promote the effective implementation of the curriculum and adjust the evaluation standard. At the macro aspect, it is necessary to develop joint cooperation mechanism, improve management mechanism, and improve the industry-college-institute cooperation to break through this dilemma.
