In recent years, the society of Chinese education around "what is Chinese lesson" "what the Chinese lesson should teach " "how to teach" "what students should learn" "how to learn" launched a fierce discussion. They advocated that Chinese classes should be with "Chinese flavor" and its nature should come back. Instead of political or social class, Chinese class refused the false surface of the active and noisy. Novel teaching in high school plays an important role in Chinese education system but there are lots of problems on the current novel teaching such as the obsolete teaching contents, the simplex teaching method and the patterned teaching program. These cause students lack of interest to learn novel and learning effect is unsatisfactory. Focusing on the above phenomena, this thesis has carried on research and exploration. Starting from the teaching content of the novel, with a standard curriculum, course content, teaching materials as a yardstick, through close reading theory construction of high school novel teaching contents, and proposes the corresponding construction strategies to help high school Chinese novel teaching.After reviewed many literatures, combined with my own internship experience, I have a certain ideas and thoughts about the close reading and the high school Chinese novel teaching content.This paper consists of four parts:Introduction: mainly introduced the problems how to put forward, literature review, research status and research methods.The first part: analyze the current situation of high school novel teaching contents and the reason, and put forward the basis of the construction of the teaching content of the novel.The second part: discuss close reading theory in detail, including its theoretical roots and basic thought connotation, and through the way of questionnaire, understand the text in the application of high school novel teaching situation and put forward the necessity of construction of high school novel teaching contents through close reading.The third part: in view of the problems arising from the questionnaire, and the problems existing in novel teaching, put forward the application of close reading through the concrete strategy to construct high school novel teaching contents. On the basis of semantics, guide students to attention language details; On the basis of modern narrative, properly introduce some knowledge to read the novel narrative skills; Based on the novel characteristics, close read with key point and feature.Then take an example of constructing the novel teaching content of Chinese textbooks of high school.To conclude, this paper has explored and learned about the close reading and high school novel teaching content construction. And state clearly where and how to close read. Close reading theory and narratology were used in novel teaching to construct teaching content. This hope to provide some reference and suggestions for Chinese teachers to improve students’ study effect.
