Fractional knowledge is an important part in mathematics in primary school. It is hard to learn for students and important to teach for teachers. In this paper, the writer investigated the significance of the fraction, the basic properties of the fraction and Fractional addition and subtraction, by means of questionnaires and case interviewing. The study shows that 76.25%of the students have reached the relevant requirements of mathematics curriculum standards.Common problems exist in the understanding of knowledge fraction as following:1. There is a misunderstanding about the concept of “equality “in “average”.2. The location of the numerator and denominator with respect to the divisor and dividend in division formula is still confused.3. The students who were investigated only know fractions represent how much the part takes up the total, but don’t know the fraction also can be used to represent specific quality.4. There exists error judgment about unit "1".5. Affected by the decimal, using points on a line to express fraction, mistakenly believe that what the molecules is, it contains several small portions or several small cells.6. Students can’t grasp the properties of the fractions solidly, and use it flexible.7. There are plenty of errors in fractional addition and subtraction operation.Based on the problems found in the survey, this paper tries to put forward the corresponding teaching strategies from three aspects of curriculum, student learning and teacher methods, and thus enrich this study with the practical significance.
