Under the background of the basic educational reform, the educators in Fancheng District in Xiangyang has been exploring a new method of teaching history. As a result,they create an efficient historical teaching class mode, which is called "Three Researches and Four Studies". This class mode makes history class no longer a class of listening, memorizing and writing and no more a class in which the teachers instill the time, places and characters of historical events into the students’mind. On the contrary, it is a student-centered class, in which the teachers help the students to study all by themselves and then cooperate with others. Apart from the traditional Lecture Method, many other teaching methods have also been widely used, such as the History Schema Teaching, Classroom Discussion Teaching, Explore Issues Teaching and Role-play Teaching. Under this condition, the creating of a historical situation is becoming more and more important.A historical situation teaching method is to create many situations that are related to the history background and events to stimulate the students’interests and participation in the class. The teachers can use the multi-media equipments, organize discussion and research and play some educational games to achieve the goal of creating historical situations. During my three years’ teaching experience of "Three Researches and Four Studies" class mode, the application of historical situation teaching method has certainly achieved a lot. In the Leading Study period, the teachers use the multi-media equipment to create some situations to help the students focus on the class. In the Self-studying period, the teachers can use the Guidance Learning Plan to create the situations to arouse their interests in history events. In the Pair-studying period, the teachers can use the brainstorming and role-play to create some situations to help the students cooperate with each other. In the Evaluation Study period, the teachers can create some competitive situations through games and judgments to encourage them to make a summary about what they have learned.However, there are still some problems about the usage of historical situation teaching method. For example, if the class management is not proper, then a Chaos Situation will happen to the class, if the teachers don’t pay attention to the students and the teaching material, then a Impotent Situation will happen and if the teacher depends too much on the guidance learning plan and the creation of situations, then a Generative Situation will appear. The Author of this article cones up with some suggestions on how to apply the history situation teaching method to "Three Researches and Four Studies" class mode according to the four following aspects:the daily class management, the group construction, the students analysis and the teaching material.
