The multimedia teaching method in high school geography classroom is now very popular. As an emerging discipline,the education and communication theory has been used to study the multimedia teaching in high school geography teaching. This article will start from the two aspects of theory and teaching practice, to study the teaching of Geography in senior high school based on the perspective of educational communication theory.Paper is divided into six parts:Part I:Introduction. It includs the research significance, the domestic and foreign research present situation, the research method and the technical route.Part II:Theoretical basis. This paper introduces the theory and method of education and communication studies, and studies and reveals the process and law of educational information dissemination activities, in order to obtain the best education effect. The relationship between education and communication and multimedia teaching. The application of multimedia teaching method in the high school geography teaching conforms to the requirements of the new geography curriculum standard. It is helpful to cultivate students’ innovative spirit and practical ability. In addition, according to the theory of constructivism, multimedia teaching can help to create the geography teaching situation.Part III:Status quo analysis. Through questionnaire survey of students and teachers, the current situation of the use of multimedia teaching in senior high school geography teaching is analyzed. At the same time, it analyzes the basic principles of the media teaching in high school geography teaching.Part IV:Case analysis. The role of multimedia teaching in geography teaching in senior high school and the interference of multimedia teaching are analyzed by using the case of teaching practice.Part V:Instructional design. Through the teaching of the first chapter of the fourth chapter of the two chapter of the "industrial location choice" for teaching design, analysis of the transmission characteristics of the Multimedia Geography Classroom teaching.Part VI:Conclusion. It includs basic conclusions, problems and prospects.
