Employment has a vital bearing on the people’s livelihood, and the problem of employment has always been the hot and difficult issues for government, academia and people’s attention. The problem of employment of undergraduates is the fundamental question which is related to people’s livelihood, and has a direct impact on social harmony, stability and development. With the reform of the economic system, employment ways gradually evolved into a two-way job choice from "all is the college of", which on the one hand made a greater autonomy and a broader space to choose between users of the unit and undergraduates, on the other hand, it also made great pressure to the undergraduates who did not come out from exam-oriented education mode. The College students’ grim employment has become a social focus as well as a social phenomenon that not allow to ignore.As increasingly rise of people material standard, the social focus on employment problem has gradually changed into the quality instead of quantity. Seventeen of the party’s report pointed out to promote employment, and in the eighteenth party’s report, it put further report that "drive to achieve higher employment quality", and took "to do a good job for youth employment as key task" as an important goal of government work. There are many factors of finding employment, but nothing more than the two basic factors, one is "human capital" and the other is "social capital". Researches have shown that with the improvement of the degree of marketization of the Labor, human capital has become the key to the success of college students’ employment. Even so, social capital still plays an important role in employment, and under certain conditions, it plays far more than the human capital. Our country is in transition from planned economy system to market system, when the Labor market is far from mature. While "china is a relations-base country", Chinese always attaches great importance to "relationship" that the use and functions has permeated all aspects of daily life, and is no exception in undergraduates employment which is relatively microscopic. How much time costs, employment channels, whether success and satisfied or not, how much pay and so on have an integral connection with social capital. Therefore, in China which is relation-focus that the university students’ employment pressure is increasing, deeply researching the social capital subject has vital significance to promote the university students’ employment.This study is on the basis of the advanced home and abroad relevant theories and research methods, and have a system analysis by collecting data and combining the literature research and empirical research. Literature research include theory analysis, content analysis and the existing statistical data analysis. Empirical studies is to select parts of colleges in Dalian and use questionnaire.The survey results show that social capital has greatly affect the graduates’ confidence, expectation, the channels of employment and the satisfaction of employment quality. In the condition of incomplete competition of university students’ employment market, for every college student, cultivating the consciousness of social capital, paying attention to the accumulation of social capital and using effectively, will help them overcome barriers of information flows, and find an ideal job. But we also need to see clearly that social capital is the combination of nature and nurture, rather than complain out of social capital blindly, try to accumulate the social capital the day after tomorrow. At the same time, social capital is important, but it is the decisive factor to live and work with its own personality, healthy and positive psychology, serious quality and helpful spirit. Only by create his/her great personal charm can he/she deal with changing society and accumulate social capital continuously.Innovation point of this research:(1)Social capital has great explanatory power in front of the college students’ employment situation, so this subject proposed significantly and looking forward.(2)The research emphasis on social capital which is not only come from families but also more from the college and universities, so social capital in colleges and universities has significant positive impact on the employment quality, and is planning as instructions for their life and career.(3)This study analyzes the various influence factors of social capital to provide advices for undergraduates to treat correctly and use it reasonable.(4)This research proves that the interaction between human capital and social capital, so as to suggest that college students to build social capital exactly and do not ignore the accumulation of human capital. The deficiency of this study:(1)the sample selection has limitations. This study looks at Dalian college students and it cause a certain error because the not strict distinction between undergraduates and master’group, and the profession distributes not homogeneous.(2)the limitation of the questionnaire design. The research lacks of a mature scale. Whether regardless of variables related to employment or social capital, it do have a certain influence on the credibility of results.
