BackgroundLocal undergraduate universities play a more and more important role in the process of higher education popularization. Through cultivating applied talents, they offer service to the local economy.How to ensure the quality of local undergraduate education has aroused widespread attention of the society. National Medium and Long-term Education Reform and Development Plan Outline(2010-2020) put particularly emphasis on the classification of higher education,‘Using the tool of policy guidance and resource allocation,the government should set up classification system and categorized management for higher education, guide reasonable orientation and overcome the homogeneity tendency, help the universities form their own style and characteristics and obtain first-class level at their own special areas.’ Guided by the applied talent cultivation orientation, local undergraduate universities need to improve their quality in teaching ability and talent cultivation in order to serve the local economic and social development.With the advent of mass higher education, young faculty becomes the main force in the universities and colleges, carrying on the tasks of teaching and research. Young faculty who was born in 1970 s or 1980 s is in the initial stage of professional development. The young faculty’s teaching ability is related closely with the development of Chinese higher education and the cultivation of innovative talents. Further the important leading role of the young teachers in the course of clinical teaching is particularly prominent.The clinical educators play an important role in the course of clinical education. They not only provide the clinical study source material for the students, but also help the students turn their book knowledge into practice. So the clinical educators’ teaching capability affects the quality of clinical pouring into society directly. How to improve the whole quality of the clinical educators is a critical problem that should be resolved immediately.ObjectiveTo discusses the status quo of the teaching ability of young teachers in the medical colleges and universities, and discusses the problems and potential causes of the teaching ability of young teachers in medical colleges and universities, and provides suggestions for the development and improvement of the teaching ability of young teachers in medical colleges and universities.MethodsThrough a large number of domestic and foreign literature, the teaching ability of young teachers in medical clinical course is defined, and the theory of classical education is combined to research,taking into account the composition of the teaching ability of young teachers in clinical course, influencing aspects and development situation, combined with the actual situation of Daping Hospital. On the basis of the existing research and questionnaire, the paper designs the questionnaire on the teaching ability of young teachers in medical colleges and universities according to the purpose of this study. From the basic situation, the teaching ability of young teachers in medical colleges and universities, the influence aspects of the teaching ability of young teachers, as well as to improve the teaching ability of the demand of self awareness, to evaluation of the status quo of teaching ability of young teachers in clinical course. And from the questionnaire survey of the clinical course of young teachers, choose 4 teachers and associate professors, according to the interview outline for personal in-depth interviews, to understand the current situation of teaching ability and influence aspects.Based on the current domestic and international young teachers teaching ability of medical clinical course development model of induction, collation and comparison,and integrated of the advantages of the current clinical teaching ability development of young teachers, combined with the characteristics of medical colleges and universities, the new development models of teaching ability in medical colleges and universities was constructed.Created conditions for smooth implementation from the practice strategy and implementation conditions.ResultsIn the aspect of relevant knowledge and skills to master, the young teacher professional knowledge and skills of the medical clinical course is generally good, and it is more familiar with the frontier of science, and has some knowledge of the relevant knowledge of pedagogy and psychology.In the aspect of curriculum design ability, because it can not adjust the teaching program and know students better according to teaching conditions, the young teachers of the clinical course of medicine are not satisfied with their teaching design. In the aspect of relevant skills to master the situation, the teaching of young teachers in medical clinical curriculum not satisfied with the proportion is still relatively large, suggesting a low level of interaction with students. In the aspect of teaching research ability, the scientific research can always be used in the classroom teaching is a small number, suggest that medical clinical course of young teachers can do better in the combination of scientific research and teaching activities of the time. In the aspect of teaching needs, the young teachers in medical clinical curriculum have been eager to improve their teaching research, most think that teaching seminars are most useful for improving the teaching ability. In the aspect of different ways to improve the teaching ability, most of the clinical courses of young teachers think that teaching assistant experience and training to help improve teaching ability, however, young teachers take almost the majority of the clinical course teaching, energy is limited, and young teachers generally not high satisfaction.ConclusionsThe growth of young teachers in medical clinical course not only needs their own efforts, the strong support of the institution and mechanism of the University, the strong teaching and research atmosphere, good growth platform are the guarantee of its ability to improve. Only using innovative teaching ideas to guide the medical clinical curriculum of young teachers to break the shackles of traditional thinking, changing the teaching method of the same, and exploring the unknown field of clinical teaching, can guide China’s Medical College clinical education into the effective development of the fast lane.
