Ordinary middle school students’ application for universities in the College Entrance Examination have a great impact on their college life, future employment and even their whole life. A lot of research results show that the professional values of college students are formed in the long period of high school, and the middle school stage is the key period of the formation of both the values and views on life, and on vocation. This paper aims to study the relationship between the college students’ application for universities in the College Entrance Examination and their professional values from the perspective of statistical analysis.In terms of senior high school year 3 students’ application for universities in the College Entrance Examination, this paper focuses on the students’ self- recognition and recruitment information. Meanwhile,I focus on the investigation of the students’ direct considering factors resulting in their application in the College Entrance Examination apart from three other aspects: individual factors, family factors and university factors.On the occupational values of the students in general senior high schools, this paper uses a table of professional values,which is revised by a famous Chinese scholar Shenghua Jin in 2005, and analyzes the vocational values of 301 ordinary middle school students in Suzhou.Through a detailed statistical analysis come the conclusion of the features of students vocational values.This paper tries to analyze the relationship between the students’ application for universities with their vocational values.I make a dual variable analysis based on the values of purposes and means, and the students’ self recognition, policy understanding and levels of attention. And a further analysis between the relationship of vocational value and application for universities reveals that there is a significant linear relationship between the two.Through analysis of empirical research, this paper obtained the two important implications: first, ordinary high school students do not have a good understanding of the relevant recruitment policy while applying for universities. As a result, universities should increase the recruitment policy propaganda; second, ordinary middle school students’ vocational value has a significant impact on their choices in the College Entrance Examination, so ordinary middle school should pay attention to carry out education of vocational values, encourage students to form scientific career values to help the students to make their choices effectively and efficiently.
