With the rapid development of China’s market economy, the thinking and behavior patterns of the capitalist countries have been introduced into China. These "outside" thinking and behaviors have a great impact on the traditional value system of our country. The phenomenon that people neglect or even forget the social responsibility for the purpose of economic benefits is gradually increasing. In recent years, a series of vicious incidents occurred and the proportion of juvenile delinquency is very high, such as the criminal incident of Ma Jiajue in 2014, the criminal incident of Yao Jiaxin in 2010, and the criminal incident of Li Tianyi in 2013, and even the case of victim student Zhou Yunlu of China Communication University in 2015, which are all deeply stimulating our nerves. People began to pay more and more attention on how to enhance the education of the sense of responsibility and accountability s of the youth and how to improve our socialist moral system.As a full-time teacher in secondary vocational school, I have more opportunities to get along with the youth group of secondary vocational school students. In recent years, I witnessed a lot of bad behaviors in study and life by vocational students due to lack of the sense of responsibility and accountability, which always led to various kinds of bad impacts on school, society and families. To be honest, I am very concerned with these young students who are no longer na?ve but not mature enough, and who will go into job market soon but not well-prepared yet. Therefore, I came out of the idea to study on how to cultivate the sense of responsibility and accountability of contemporary secondary vocational school students more effectively.Based on relevant domestic and overseas theories, this paper briefly explains the connotation of the sense of responsibility and accountability; introduces the main contents of the cultivation of the students’ sense of responsibility and accountability, and raised the new meaning of responsibility and accountability featured for secondary vocational school students, based on research methodologies including academic paper study, questionnaires, individual interviews, case studies, etc. I took students of different majors from three vocational schools as study subjects for questionnaire survey and random interviews, and found out the scarceness or even absence of the sense of responsibility and accountability among secondary vocational school student, based on my research data results. After analyzing on the cause of these problems, I raise my advice on how schools should build up long-term cultivation system and how society and families should provide as safeguard support, in order to cultivate the sense of responsibility and accountability effectively. At society level, the government will provide political guarantee, and new media will lead public opinions to deliver positive energy, and employers should conduct morality evaluation on secondary vocational school students. At family level, family education should change stereotyped educational concepts and parents should make themselves as examples to raise the sense of responsibility and accountability. At school level, the school should further improve the cultivation target system and evaluation mechanics, to build positive and healthy campus culture for the sense of responsibility and accountability, pay more attention to social practices to improve the subject conciseness and capacities for secondary vocational students. I also worked out specific measures based on the realities of the secondary vocational school where I am working, which had been implemented for nearly one year and led to obvious changes on our vocational students, in terms of studies, daily behaviors and employer feedbacks. In the end of the paper, I made more specific and targeted summary and introspection based on the implementation effect of these measures, with the purposes to cultivate the sense of responsibility and accountability for secondary vocational school students.
