Ways And Measures To Enhance The Science And Technology Innovation Capacity In Medical Universities

During recent years, great efforts have been made to achieve the target of "enhancing science and technology innovation capacity" in Chongqing Medical University as a corresponding deed to meet the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" requirements. Through continuous accumulation and breakthrough, gratifying achievements have been made in scientific research, research platform construction, key disciplines build and scientific and technological achievements.As a carrier of new knowledge and new technologies, Universities are seen as national backbone in promoting domestic scientific and technological innovation, which is echoed in foreign literature too, and it’s said that universities will lead a new academic revolution, become a "knowledge-oriented" technological innovation sources. Therefore, to some extent the universities level of technological innovation is on behalf of the state’s level, and its importance is self-evident. While medical science as "Molecular Medicine" and "histology" and other medical branches are embracing its booming period, medical universities need to meet the challenges and seize the good opportunity to make a difference on human medicine cause.In the first chapter of this paper, school’s scientific results achieved in recent years are summarized, and according to the comparison with some selected domestic medical universities, it’s found that they leave the school behind, we are faced with a grim situation on technological innovation and development work. In chapter 2 problems are identified and the causes are analyzed, and the causes are that the concept of innovation and ideas still not popular, and the importance of scientific research has not been widely recognized and we are lacking in scientific research platforms, and scientific and technological achievements conversion rate is unsatisfactory, and so on. They have already become the "blocking stone" standing in the torrent of science and technology innovation in Chongqing Medical University. Some principles to be followed are clarified in the third chapter in advancing science and technology innovation, so that innovative work can be carried out in an orderly manner. In the last chapter I discuss the ways and measures to enhance science and technology innovation capacity of Chongqing Medical University. We propose conception and mechanism innovation and we can make some progress in raising medical school’s innovation capacity through the implementation of talent strategy, funding increase, platform construction, featuring subject characteristics, scientific and technological achievements promotion etc.In this paper, according to the study of actual situation in Chongqing Medical University and the comparison between the school and other domestic medical universities selected, problems and problem-solving measures are elaborated, which are more from the conception and mechanism innovation perspective. Talent training and scientific and technological achievements conversion are given more emphasis during all the suggestions. I hope I can contribute to improve science and technology innovation work in other local Medical Universities.
