The research status of junior middle school, novel teaching problems and the future direction is analyzed. The novel teaching situation is not optimistic, text, guidance system, teachers and students in the current state is not very ideal, especially for teachers and students,under the influence of environment tend to forget the original purpose of reading, toward the examination of the direction of advance. The teaching of the problem is mainly reflected in the teaching target out of practice, the teaching content of the blind choice, teaching and training in the form of a single; The main problems of the study are the students’lack of self-awareness, students’ability to read the method is generally not strong, students are obviously lack of interest in reading. Therefore in teaching, this paper first analyzes the teaching method, teaching methods are often repeated conservative, but also can not take students as the main body, not to cultivate students’ reading interest, improve students’reading ability. Secondly, it discusses the effective teaching method,in particular, the preview plays an important role in the novel teaching, as well as the whole classroom to control. Finally, take the Lu Xue’s novel in the textbook as an example. Among them, the analysis method of character image in the teaching of novels is analyzed, such as the frequent use of the image analysis method, and so on, in order to further explore the novel teaching strategy.
