General education is one of the ideals of university education, general education is also a personnel training mode. Students are the important subject of general education, their satisfaction of general education directly influence their enthusiasm and motivation, what’s more, it may influence the effect of general education. Therefore, the research on student satisfaction of general education is meaningful and valuable.In the research, I choose the students of J University as respondents. I mainly use questionnaire investigation and statistical analysis to carry on the research. The research is based on the basic theory of general education and relevant research literature. Besides, my teacher and classmates also give me some advice. With their help, I prepare the questionnaire and do a survey of six dimensions related to general education. According to the survey, I find that students are more satisfied with teachers than the other dimensions. Then as follows, from high to low in turn is the course content, teaching quality, school management, co urse setting, course credit system. What’s more, I find that students of different gender have significant differences on the satisfaction of teachers dimension, I also find students of different grades have significant differences on the satisfaction of course setting dimension, but students of different profession and admissions category have no differences on student satisfaction of general education. Then, there are many factors which affect student satisfaction such as student factors, teacher factors, school factors. Student factors include the students’ learning attitude, the cognition of general education, etc. Teacher factors include general teachers’ teaching methods, teaching contents, teaching level, etc. School factors include general curriculum and content, course system, general education credits related management measures and mechanism, etc. In order to change the implementation of general education, improve the student satisfaction of general education, students should have correct study attitude, improve the cognition of general education, set up the correct choosing courses motivation. Teachers should change the traditional teaching mode, adjust the teaching content of curriculum, improve their teaching level. School should set up general courses reasonably, reform elective system of a curriculum, loosen credit restrictions, strengthen the manageme nt of general education, improve the corresponding management mechanism of general education.
